Alumni: Fran Dixon

Whilst studying second year Surface Pattern, its important for recent graduates to come back to share their success from working in the industry, to current students (such as myself).

Fran Dixon who opened her presentation with her successful internships she had won whilst studying. Tigerprint, Hallmark to name a few. Fran had gone on to extend her education, by going on to study her Mdes (Masters Degree) which she spoke very highly about. Fran is now a trainee Design & Technology teacher in a local school where she lives, in Cornwall.

I think its vital that past students who had gone on to study Mdes, discuss how vital it is to carry on with the course. Fran had mentioned that she had lots of experience from internships, which she had given us a lot of inside information. After graduating its a big decision what to do. Frans desire to teach started off when she started studying SPD, so her presentation was very passionate.

Advice :Make the most of your time, be creative, experiment and ambitious, & have pride in your work.
